Monotype

A monotype is a hand done print, but an original and not a reproduction, because there is only one image. The image is created by  painting oil paint to a smooth glass plate and pressing this plate and paper together. The still wet paint is pressed against the paper, then the paper is pealed off the glass plate. The result is always surprising, with a spontaneous effect and untouched, often brilliant colour.
